Garth Frizzell is UNBC's Research Partnership and Innovation Officer. He is dedicated to bringing the benefits of research to society, through partnerships with industry, NGOs, and other organizations.
Since 2008, Garth served as a Prince George City Councillor. For each of those years, his peers in BC local government elected him to the national Board of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.
Prior to this, Garth built an award-winning technology startup, Terra Cognita Software Systems, and grew it for 10 years in Prince George. This fostered an abiding interest in improving policies that help small business. He continues to pursue this as a past-President of the Prince GeorgeChamber of Commerce, and for six years as a Northern representative on the Province of BC Small Business Roundtable, advising government.
