Vice President of Innovation and Cleantech

 

As Vice President of Innovation and Cleantech with The Delphi Group, John is focused on working with private and public sector clients to accelerate the deployment and commercialization of clean solutions.  He and his team focus on supporting strategy development, analysis, funding solutions, and deployment opportunities to see clients and partners achieve their low-carbon and sustainability goals.

John has over 18 years of experience working in the energy sector, all of it focused on the low-carbon energy transition. Specific areas of expertise include distributed generation solutions, renewable energy, carbon markets, and low-carbon transportation options.  His experience includes the development and implementation of solar, wind, combined heat and power, and energy storage projects, as well as the design and execution of energy efficiency programs. In many instances, a core feature of this experience included bringing new technologies to market through demonstration and pilot programs.

As a senior leader in previous organizations, John has set strategies and led teams to the successful execution of their mandates. He has extensive experience working with all levels of government and has 10 years of utility industry experience to draw from.

John was formerly the Director of Energy Solutions with ENMAX Corporation, and Vice President of Climate Change Central. He has an MA in Geography, focusing on transportation, energy systems, and climate change, and a BES with urban and economic development specialization. Currently, John sits on the Board of the Decentralised Energy Canada Association and is a past Board member of the Canadian Solar Industries Association, the Alberta Energy Efficiency Alliance, and the Canadian Energy Efficiency Alliance.
