2021 CLEAN50 CELEBRATING CANADA’S SUSTAINABILITY HEROES

The Clean50 Individual awards are selected from 16 diverse categories that transcend industries, academia, different levels of government, thought leaders and advocates, and are based on accomplishments delivered over the prior two years.

In 2021 DEC’s President, Anouk Kendall was recognised as one of Canada’s leading authorities in sustainable energy. Her commitment to decentralised energy, microgrids and energy efficiency is driving the transition to a resilient and reliable energy future. She has cultivated a broad and powerful network of industry stakeholders and continuously discovers creative ways to share emerging industry knowledge through technical sessions, educational programming and high calibre partnerships. The shared vision and commitment of DEC’s collaborative network has helped make it a catalyst of change that is converting innovation into affordable and clean energy, sustainable communities, and climate action.

2019 A FORCE FOR GOOD

In 2019 DEC was the recipient of INSEAD's Business as a Force for Good Award in the Not-For-Profit Organisations category. The 2nd Annual Awards Ceremony was hosted by the Power Corporation of Canada in their Montreal head offices, in the presence of Paul Desmarais Jr, Chairman and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Power Corporation of Canada, Ilian Mihov, Dean of INSEAD, Nida Januskis, Associate Dean of Advancement INSEAD.

Jointly organised by the INSEAD NAA Canada and the INSEAD Alumni Fund, the award aims to recognise Canadian businesses who have demonstrated thought-leadership with respect to "Business as a Force for Good", have a vision, mission and strategy clearly demonstrating their commitment, have developed best practices and achieved remarkable economical results while delivering meaningful societal impact.

2017 26TH ANNUAL EMERALD AWARDS

In 2017 DEC received the Community Group or Not-For-Profit Association: Grassroots Award at the 26th Annual Emerald Awards.

The Emerald Awards have recognised and celebrated the outstanding environmental achievements of large and small businesses, individuals, not-for-profit associations, community groups, youth and governments. Presented by the Alberta Emerald Foundation (AEF), the uniquely-Albertan award recognises and celebrates environmental excellence in 12 cross-sectoral categories.

2016 KNOVO AWARD

In 2016, DEC received the KNOVO Award of Distinction for our Commitment to the Advancement of Women in the Workplace. The Awards Ceremony took place at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium and featured a keynote presentation from Catherine Dyer the Chief Information Officer for Enbridge Inc. The awards were presented to recipients by Stephanie McLean, Alberta's Minister for the Status of Women.

The KNOVO Awards Celebrate Corporate Gender Diversity and reward Alberta businesses for adopting leading policies and practices to promote female recruitment, retention, and advancement in the workplace.
