Alicia Couto

Program Manager

Alicia is the DEC Program Manager of the Standards Committee. 

Alicia is an entrepreneur, lecturer, teacher, and advocate of renewable energy and energy efficiency in Canada. She is also a sessional instructor at Lakeland College’s Sustainable Energy Program and is Co-Owner of Couto Consulting and Engineering Ltd. She is a founding member of the Renfrew Solar Garden, a community renewable energy project that is slated for installation in 2022, and has been an active board member with Solar Alberta since 2019.

Alicia is currently pursuing her Master's of Sustainability at the University of Saskatchewan. Her mission is to help communities in their transition to being more green with energy efficiency programs and renewable energies.
