Brad has over 35 years of experience in the energy industry much of which has been spent in leadership and executive roles. Starting out as a prospecting oil and gas geologist for mostly junior companies he eventually co-founded and led his own public energy company. He followed this up with executive roles with global companies such as Equinor where he spent seven years including two years in Europe where he worked on a team that had responsibility for the world’s first offshore carbon sequestering project. Brad is currently advising companies and organizations in various areas of conventional and transitional energy leadership as well as working on his own energy projects. Previously he spent eight years with the City of Medicine Hat in a variety of roles with his last position being the Managing Director for Energy & Infrastructure. Recognizing the need for change he started the City down an energy transition pathway including the possibilities for hydrogen implementation for the region as well as carbon capture with Project Clear Horizon well underway. He sits on several Boards and has been an active supporter of multiple professional societies including APEGA, CSPG and the AAPG. He is a strong supporter of the DEC vision and expects that its membership is going to make a significant positive impact on the future of energy.
