Christophe Owttrim named ERA's new Executive Director, Technology and Innovation

ERA is pleased to announce the appointment of Christophe Owttrim as Executive Director, Technology and Innovation. In this new role, Chris will oversee ERA's strategic direction in technology investments, spearhead competitive funding calls, and provide thought leadership with his team on clean technology garnered from ERA’s investments. Chris has spent the last seven years in a variety of roles with Alberta Innovates and ERA, most recently serving as ERA's Technology Investment Lead.

Chris holds a bachelor's and master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Alberta. He has a strong track record of analyzing, supporting, and accelerating innovative technologies in Alberta, most recently leading the design and evaluation process for the Circular Economy, Industrial Transformation, and Reshaping Energy Systems funding calls. Chris has significant research experience related to energy system modelling and industrial energy efficiency.
