City of Brooks
The City of Brooks is the centre of the County of Newell, which is located at the intersections of the TransCanada Highway and Highway 36. The Newell Region is central to Calgary, Medicine Hat and Lethbridge with less than 190 kilometres of separation between each city. The Region’s strengths include our large number of entrepreneurs and small enterprises, low cost of housing compared to larger regional communities, strong oil and gas, agriculture, agri-food processing and metal fabrication businesses. Brooks is also known for having a diverse community with many resources for immigrants.
Most importantly, our region offers exceptional quality of life. We have multiple regional health care facilities, proactive and supportive municipal leadership, a large supply of serviced land within regional industrial parks and in-community metal fabricating and construction companies to support regional projects, oil and gas exploration and services, and agriculture/food processing. The City of Brooks is also home to the AJHL Brooks Bandits and WMBL Brooks Bombers. New and renovated recreational facilities, as well as our parks and pathways, give our active population the opportunity to participate in community activities.
