EHRC mentorship platform connects electricity sector workers to build relationships for success
March 4, Ottawa, ON – Today Electricity Human Resources Canada (EHRC) launches Mentor Junction, a free, online mentorship platform for Canada’s electricity sector. The free, user-friendly platform facilitates mentor relationships among current and prospective workers in the sector.
Mentorship is a proven strategy for supporting career development and the professional success of women, young workers and underrepresented workers in the electricity sector. Mentor relationships offer benefits to mentors and mentees alike; mentees grow their professional network while receiving career guidance, and mentors can ensure the next generation of leaders are well-equipped. For a sector looking to diversify and attract young talent, mentorship offers a path for empowering diverse voices in early stages of their careers.
The platform builds on EHRC’s previous work supporting mentor relationships among women in the sector through their Connected Women program. The new platform includes a suite of specialized resources facilitating women’s mentorship, as well as the ability to find mentors based on gender, years of experience and more. In making the benefits of mentorship accessible across the sector, the platform accepts participants of all genders at all stages of their careers looking for a variety of mentorship opportunities.
