BVGEC is a grassroots, socially responsible, member owned organization that aims to facilitate the creation of community-owned renewable energy generation projects in the Bow Valley. A Community Generation project is owned and managed by local citizens who invest in the project installation, sell the electricity generated to a host site, and share the profits.

We are thrilled to share with you that on July 5, 2022, BVGEC, in partnership with Kuby Renewable Energy LTD, began installing our second community-funded solar installation at I-Place, located at 1 Industrial Place, Canmore!

Once completed, phase one of this project will showcase 283 solar panels forming a system 127 kW in size and is expected to offset 88 tons of carbon dioxide per year!
