January 2022 Innovation Funding Bulletin

Happy 2022!

We are here now - in beautiful 2022! Wishing you the best in 2022! We will continue to progress in 2022! One thing that I cannot emphasize enough is that if your company is hiring and/or training in 2022, there’s a lot funding available for your company. I just recently worked with a client company to build their Employment and Training Grant Strategy & Timeline - the opportunity for securing funding was well beyond my expectations.

The most comprehensive way to learn about the programs and maximize funding opportunities is to subscribe for the Overview and work with me to build your company’s Employment & Training Grant Strategy & Timeline - this is quick and efficient way to quickly learn about these funding opportunities - and most importantly ensures that you’ve considered all of your funding options and have a plan for moving forward.

If budget is a concern, you can purchase the 2022 Overview of the 60+ Employment and Training Funding Programs and build your company’s employment/training strategy/plan along with my input and feedback on an as needed basis.

Double up this year when you’re making your 2022 R&D plans by accessing both funding sources - innovation funding plus employment and training funding to reduce overall R&D and manpower costs. Let’s secure a lot of grant funding for your business this year!

EVENTS!

We as a community have so many big events and changes to look forward to in 2022 - the Platform Innovation Centre will open; the Edison has become a tech campus, and, Calgary’s Energy Centre will move to the Ampersand. Mayor Jyoti Gondek and the Councilors are re-visiting the downtown Event Centre concept with a report due back in March 2022. And, just announced, EY is choosing Calgary for its first Canadian-based EY Finance Centre of Excellence!

With a beautiful downtown with the river, park, restaurants and amenities - we will be back to a vibrant Calgary in no time. And, same for our beautiful Province - we will all be back to a work life / home life / community life that will be so much better than ever before.

About the Pandemic & the Impact of Isolation

Every person on the planet is experiencing some form of pandemic fear and the ensuing isolation - and, with no experience as to how to deal with it. It’s important to make the call to a best friend, and, to a helping agency if we are feeling queasy, upset, alone, scared, angry/ depressed, and/or out of sorts for any extended length of time. The Calgary Distress Centre is invaluable for assisting each and every Calgarian deal with and address the impact of pandemic isolation. Bell’s Let’s Talk website provides a plethora of Covid-19 resources and much more.

We just have to remember until the necessity of isolation starts to taper or mercifully ends, we need each other to talk with, be with and be in community with.”  Debra Yedlin, CEO & President of the Calgary Chamber. Reaching out and talking with each other, and, physically being with each other one on one, and, in our communities, is the antidote. A good counsellor provides support and can provide many other options to minimizing isolation. If there is one word that stands out more than any other word in 2022 as we talk with/be with/be in community with is the word ‘care’ - selfcare, family care, neighbour care, community care, mental health care, health care - care for ourselves and for others is going to work wonders for all of us in 2022.

Wishing you the Very Best & the Most Prosperous Year in 2022!

Best Regards, Eileen Ashmore, MBA - Technology Funding Specialist
