Replacing diesel-fueled fleets with new sustainable transportation technology is a high priority for the City of Edmonton and Strathcona County. As part of the Alberta Zero Emission Hydrogen Transit (AZEHT), one hydrogen bus has been added to the Edmonton Transit Service fleet and one is now servicing Strathcona County. Along with reinforcing Alberta as a global leader in the hydrogen economy, this project lowers greenhouse gas emissions and paves the way towards sustainable fleets for the two municipalities. The two hydrogen buses are uniquely wrapped in a special blue and green vinyl inspired by hydrogen and water molecules. ERA committed $4.6 million to the project through its Shovel-Ready Challenge.
