  • The Federal Government, through Public Works and Government Services, issued a Request for Information for up to 280,000 MWh of renewable electricity for federal buildings within Alberta and up to an additional 360,000 MWh of renewable energy credits to displace emissions of electricity consumed by federal buildings outside of Alberta.

  • The AESO will host a Participant-Related Costs for DFOs (Substation Fraction) and DFO Cost Flow-Through Technical Session on May 14.

  • Capital Power Corporation announced that it will no longer pursue the 1060MW Genesee 4/5 Combined Cycle development and is in discussions with its partner, ENMAX, regarding the logistics of exiting the series of related agreements.

  • Osum Production Corp has applied for AUC approval to construct a 19.4MW organic rankine cycle facility and industrial system designation (AUC Proceeding 25517) for its 25,000 barrel per day SAGD Commercial Plant north of Cold Lake.

  • Alberta Power (2000) Ltd., an affiliate of Heartland Generation Ltd., received AUC approval (AUC Approval 25493-D01-2020) to operate Battle River 5 as dual fuel until the end of 2022, amending AUC Approval 25222.

  • In response to Covid-19, the AUC issued Bulletin 2020-13 extending the minimum response period given to stakeholders under Rule 007 and Rule 020 from 14 to 30 days, discouraging face to face consultation unless undertaken in compliance with physical distancing practices, and removing the requirement for printed mailing labels.
