The AESO is kicking off its Connection Process Streamlining initiative with Session One on May 19th, 2022 at 10am MTN. Interested stakeholders should register for the event. Objectives include updating on the changing landscape, review current challenges, sharing plans for the initiative, and preparing stakeholders for the next engagement session planned for Q2, 2022.
Enfinite LP submitted an application (AUC Proceeding 27330) to construct and operate its 20 MW eReserve9 Battery Energy Storage Project. The project will be connected to 25 kV distribution lines near the Goodfare 815S substation, 6 km southwest of Hythe. It is expected to be online by April 1, 2023 and will be capable of 40 MWh.
The AESO posted a letter to stakeholders outlining changes to its 2023 Budget Development Process, which is required in accordance with the Transmission Regulation. Changes include communicating clear expectations, allowing greater opportunity for the AESO to gain stakeholder insight, and providing increased stakeholder influence over the types, timing, and priority of AESO's work. The first engagement session is scheduled for June 1-3, 2022.
Kiwetinohk Energy Corp. applied to the AUC (Proceeding 27345) to construct and operate its 400 MW Homestead Solar Energy Project. It will be located on 2,000 acres of privately held, cultivated land approximately 11 km southeast of Claresholm. It is expected to be online by November, 2024.
The AESO extended its deadline for feedback related to its OR Market Review process to May 13, 2022. Interested stakeholders can submit comments using the Comment Matrix.
Acestes Power ULC applied to the AUC (Proceeding 27319) to construct and operate its 23.6 MW Tilley Solar Project located in the County of Newell, 4.1 km northeast of the Hamlet of Tilley. The project will utilize 525W bifacial modules mounted on single-axis tracker racking. It is expected to be online December 2023.
