The Canadian Technology Accelerator

The CTA Climatetech program is designed for Canadian climatetech start-ups seeking capital & customers in the US.  We help our companies rapidly scale by putting them in front of hundreds of investors, customers & strategic partners across the United States in virtual pitch events, one-on-one connections and through our website.  We’ve formed partnerships with leading US climatetech players (Greentown Labs, Powerhouse, Urban Future Lab, NREL, NYSERDA and others) to make sure our cohort gets mentorship, exposure and traction.  We’ve been running and refining this program for a decade, and have helped our alumni raise tens of millions of dollars in venture capital and secure significant new customers in the US.  You can see our 2020 Cohort Dealbook here.

The ideal candidate is a Canadian climatetech start-up with a unique technology, a product they’re selling/ready to sell, and that is currently fundraising or plans to raise a Seed/Series A over the next ~12 months.  We take a broad view of climatetech, and are interested in working with a wide range of technologies. In a normal year we get ~70 applications from across Canada; we then work with our selection panel of US climatetech VCs to refine this into a cohort of 10-12 companies. We ran a fully virtual program in 2020, and will likely do the same this year given COVID. The time commitment for companies is 2-4 hours per week throughout the summer & fall.  There is no cost to participate.
