New technologies and societal developments are changing the energy industry rapidly. Countries all over the globe are looking into cleaner energies, smarter technologies and more efficient energy storage techniques. Currently, there are opportunities arising throughout Canada, as the country is looking towards the expansion of renewable energies and decentralized power generation. To take a closer look at these opportunities, the Canadian German Chamber of Industry and Commerce is organizing a bilateral two-day Virtual Conference on Smart Grids and Storage, which will take place on September 15 and 16, 2020 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm (MDT).

The conference is open to all representatives from the energy industry, associations, policy and media. It will include panel discussions with Canadian and German speakers. The audience will be invited to take part in the questions and answer sessions that follow each panel discussion.

The German Canadian Conference on Smart Grids and Storage will also include representatives from a German trade mission to Alberta which will take place from September 14-18, 2020. The Canadian German Chamber of Industry and Commerce organizes the weekly program for the participating companies which will allow them to learn more about the Canadian market. This will include individual B2B meetings between Canadian and German companies. Both, the conference and the trade mission, are part of the German Energy Solutions Initiative of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy.
