Leaders in Energy Sustainability (LES) Seeks Partners Participation

Leaders in Energy Sustainability (LES), is a training program for graduate students at Dalhousie University, focusing on producing the next generation of energy and sustainability leaders, to help ensure Canada’s role as a global leader in the emerging energy revolution. We are actively seeking industry and government partners to participate in our program by providing trainee placement and mentorship opportunities.

LES Trainees come from science, engineering, management and social science graduate programs to gain a unique set of credentials that combine technical expertise, industry insight, research and communication skills, as well as professional and business skills that will enable them to navigate the societal, business, and regulatory environments linked to renewable energy development and its successful deployment. More information about the LES team, the structure of the program and research themes can be found on our website.

The program provides a range of paths for trainees to explore cutting-edge research and professional environments:

  • The LES mentorship component connects trainees with high-level professionals to discuss career paths, professional insight and networking. Industry and government mentors support, advise and guide the mentees, preparing them to make informed decisions related to career paths and being competitive in the employment market.

  • Our LES placement component enables trainees to gain insights into the sustainable energy sectors. The program is designed to expose our highly motivated trainees to diverse backgrounds into industry, government, NGOs, and/or business development sectors in the field of clean energy transition.

We are reaching out the Decentralised Energy Canada community to find leading experts and environments that will help develop the next generation of professionals currently being trained at Dalhousie University. If you or your organization are interested in providing mentorship or placement opportunities (3-4 mo) in the LES program, please contact us at LES.Energy@dal.ca
